FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q:
Will my insurance cover this test?
A: Insurance coverage is based on criteria outlined in your
insurance plan coverage document. For example some plans exclude
payment for any test conducted for infertility. Other plans
have strict guidelines about the timing of screening exams.
It is best to check with your insurance company if you are
unsure about whether they will cover the test.
Q:
Will I have an out-of-pocket expense on this test?
A: The amount an insurance company pays for a test is dependent
upon the co-pay and co-insurance levels of the specific plan
as well as any deductible amounts that need to be satisfied.
It is best to check with your insurance company to determine
what your out-of-pocket expense will be on a test.
Q:
Will I get a separate bill from the Radiologists?
A: If your place of service is Raleigh Radiology Blue Ridge,
Raleigh Radiology Cedarhurst or the Raleigh Radiology Breast
Center, you will receive one bill for the test. If your place
of service is Rex Hospital or another Rex HealthCare location,
you will receive two bills, one from Rex and one from the
Radiologist.
Q:
Do the Radiologists participate with my insurance plan?
A: Raleigh Radiology is a participating provider for most
plans that employers choose in the local area. Your plan provides
each member with a list of participating providers. If you
are unsure whether Raleigh Radiology participates you can
call one of our locations, your insurance plan or refer to
your plan information
Q:
Do I need an authorization for this test?
A: Several plans require pre-authorization for some types
of Radiology tests, typically MRI, CT and PET scans. It is
the responsibility of your referring physician to contact
your insurance plan, provide information to obtain the necessary
authorization and provide the authorization number to Raleigh
Radiology.
Q:
Do you file insurance?
A: Yes, Raleigh Radiology files insurance as a courtesy for
all patients.
