At
Raleigh Radiology Blue Ridge, both mammography and ultrasound
are accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR),
and all images are interpreted by the radiologists of Raleigh
Radiology. Raleigh Radiology has been a leader in adopting
new, proven technology that directly benefits patient care. Raleigh
Radiology was the first group in this area to use digital
mammography and the first to be accredited by the ACR in mammography
and ultrasound, which are now recognized as the community
standard for optimal patient care. Raleigh Radiology uses Computer Aided Detection (CAD)
on all mammography. CAD has been shown to potentially increase
the breast cancer detection rate by up to 20%.
Multidetector
computed tomography not only improves all CT exams but is
essential for CT exams performed for the diagnosis of pulmonary
embolus (PE) and for the detection of ureteral calculi. The
16 slice CT scanner at Raleigh Radiology Blue Ridge is in a bright,
open room. There are separate waiting
rooms for CT/MRI patients and women, in addition to the main reception
area.
