3D mammography is an optional, but highly recommended, addition to a traditional screening mammogram. 3D mammography complements a screening mammogram by adding additional detailed views of the breast tissue. The cost of a 3D mammogram is very affordable at just $60.

Benefits of 3D Mammography
An additional 3D mammogram is highly recommended by our radiologists for most women. A 3D mammogram takes only about 60 seconds and provides many benefits including:
- Creates a clearer view through overlapping breast tissue making breast abnormalities are easier to see, even through dense breast tissue.
- Provides a very detailed view of breast tissue, which helps radiologists to pinpoint the size, shape, and location of an abnormality.
- Fewer false positives and callbacks due to the clear, detailed images.
What to Expect During a 3D Mammogram
During a screening mammogram, each breast is placed on to a special plate, compressed, and imaged. The radiologist then views the breast tissue in one flat image. When 3D mammography is added, the x-ray arm of the machine makes a quick arc over the compressed breast tissue, taking an additional series of images at different angles. These two different types of images together provide the radiologist with exceptional detail of the entire breast.
