As a new father of twin boys, Dr. Andrew Golden and his wife are very busy at home, and then he has his other job!  An interventional radiologist who joined Raleigh Radiology in 2022, he has a demanding career but never shortchanges his patients and their health. “I take the time and effort to make extra calls to referring physicians of mutual patients and try to collaborate with them on the best care plan for the patient.” For example, he may have a surgeon who sends a patient to him. “The options may include surgery or the minimally invasive image-guided procedures I offer,” he says. Dr. Golden points out, “We must not only provide the patient the best option but also have them informed on the pros and cons of both to collaborate to ensure a solid diagnosis and plan of action for the patient. I enjoy spending time with my patients to be sure they understand the plan.”

Part of his ability to make sure his patients have his focus and expertise available for as long as they need is due to the environment created at Raleigh Radiology. Dr. Golden appreciates working with his colleagues at RR, “I love working here. The techs and nurses are especially helpful and joyful in their jobs. They make the workday go by quickly.” He also lauds his fellow physicians for the accommodating and flexible atmosphere at work, “the other doctors are easy to work with on scheduling and making sure we have the flexibility to serve our patients well and meet our other responsibilities.”

A native of Florida, he enjoys his new state immensely. “North Carolina has a lot to offer. The mild climate and having all four seasons are great, but more importantly, we find the people in North Carolina to be very nice, too,” he shares.  Having the mountains and the beach a short distance away is also a plus for someone who enjoys the outdoors for hiking, boating, and water skiing, as his family does. As his boys grow older, Andrew looks forward to sharing his love for the outdoors while continuing to serve his patients at Raleigh Radiology with the same passion and care.
