“Surfing allows life to be broken down into its simplest elements; being out in the water with great people enjoying a shared passion helps put life into perspective.” Dr. Satish Mathan enjoys surfing, and although he delf-depreciatingly says he isn’t “very good,” it allows him to change his everyday viewpoint. During the last 18 years at Raleigh Radiology, he has accepted roles that have increasingly expanded his work in the field. A vascular and interventional radiologist, he is also the President and a Managing Partner, who relishes that his leadership role allows him to effect change and impact more people. “We have been blessed with amazing growth and been able to overcome challenges while keeping the feeling of a smaller, cohesive practice,” says Dr. Mathan. He feels that patients must have empathetic providers who spend time with them to explain all aspects of their diagnosis and treatment; they get that at Raleigh Radiology.

Challenged by the increased regulation and bureaucracy that stands in the way of getting the patients the care they need, Dr. Mathan uses the opportunity to use technology and processes to streamline things so there’s more time to take care of patients. “Having the Raleigh Radiology ‘brand’ of compassionate care allows us to reach people and positively impact more lives,” he says, “and I am blessed to have had the opportunity to work with the great providers, stenographers, and staff at Raleigh Radiology, and help contribute to its growth.”
